welcome! I live in Eastern townships of quebec--I too, have horses, pet pigs, dogs and cats and I love my two hens just as much as any of them--wonderful birds!- Henna56

the hens look very comfortable-- i built my pet pigs an insulated house out of pallets--economical and easy to build with, love them. I will be building my 2 hens a new coop in spring -- thanks for sharing!- Henna56

When to introduce dogs to new chicks
i would be more worried the dog was going to kill or injure them--i know my dogs would--i keep my dogs and hens separated at all times.- Henna56

I only have two hens too with no extra heat--dry, insulated, well ventilated and wind proof coop. I am putting extra insulation of straw right above their favourite roosting place, which is quite high up.
