This is my little silkie, I have a few problems here a) no leg feathers (have been ranting just a tad on another thread about this) b) unsure of age and c) the reason I've come to you lovely lot, I'm unsure of gender. Any advice greatly appreciated.
I got her from a breeder, who did also say if she turned out to be a cockeral I could exchange for a hen (however by that point I'll be too attached). Feel pretty short changed on this n very annoyed. The fluffy legs are all part of the cute, fluffy, silkie package!
I'm a tad confused here- i have a white silkie, unsure on age, but not crowing/laying yet, he/she has no leg feathers. Granted I have no plans on showing, but I'd be pretty annoyed to think I've purchased anything other than a "proper" silkie! Is she pure? Just feels a lil like buying a polish...
But she took over from the orpington who is now dead! None have hatched and I have no way of checking if there's life there. From when the orpington went broody to now has been 4weeks, surely one should've hatched by now if it was going to, even from the later collection? Also my son...
someone please please help, our brahma took over sitting on the miss matched eggs and the rest of our chickens were killed by a fox a week ago. There is no sign of any hatching and my candler died! What do I do!? We are left with our one chicken sitting on these eggs that I don't even know are...
My buff orpington went broody 6 days ago and she doing great so far (scary, but great) I am going to wait until day 10 to do my first candling session, however, my other two girls- a dark brahma and pekin bantam, keep squishing in with her to lay their eggs! I'm so stumped on what to do, the...
Wow, this is a busy thread! But I have talk polish- my polish cockerel Claude has 5 toes on one foot! I was told a silky May have crept in a while back during breeding! Has anyone else experienced this?
I have a polish bantam cockerel, and was hoping that one day I would breed him with my girls (non polish girls, so cross breed babies, but the girls are booted, thought that would be a lovely mix with their dad's crest and mums boots) and also at some stage getting an unrelated polish girl to...
I did wonder what breed the speckled one is, she's a pretty one. Makes me laugh that they seem to get into mischief in pairs! Never thought I'd be referring to a chicken as mischief!
