    Haven't read that they flock with any new bird, that's a bonus since it would make adding to the flock less stressful. Don't plan on eating them so plucking wouldn't be a problem. I want them for their beauty & eggs, and any incidental hilarity that they provide.

    Can't think of who, but someone used wet paper towels to keep the membrane from drying out; wrapped them around the egg for awhile. And someone else draped the wet paper towel over the top of the eggs to help with humidity. I'm no help either... I read a lot, but no RL experience to give you...

    Perfect. Didn't even think to suggest an open sallet helm! She can go medieval on any of them with that spike. Joking aside, I do hope she recovers & doesn't have any more injuries from whatever source.

    Great pic! Didn't check sizes, but it's always possible they're out there. Or, you could buy some of the spikes & add'em to your turtleneck idea. She'd look like the baddest chick in the yard.
