Looking for Hen in need of re-homing SF Bay Area

Hello, We just recently lost a member of our flock do to a prolapse. We are down to one member of our flock. I've been doing research and read, it's best to not have a lone hen. And I think our lady, would enjoy company from another. We currently only have room for one, hen. And working on a...

What an inspiring story. You can tell a lot of love went into it, from both your husband and those who finished the coop. And how awesome to think your chickens have such an amazing place to live!

Yes very true! She seems so much happier and I have noticed her comb is starting to go from pink to red. Every day it seems to get brighter. I have tons of patience for her, and am still learning.

She is free range when we are home and able to watch them. And currently working on building a bigger coop and run. Otherwise they do spend a good amount of time in the coop and run able to "nest." I have one other leghorn from the same flock and she lays an egg for us daily. I was thinking of...

Recently lost our dear Lucy to the biggest owl I have ever seen here in Northern CA. It rained for two days, and on the third right at dusk before I was able to get all the ladies in the coop. We are so heartbroken, this was our first loss of the flock. We have learned A LOT and are now making a...
