So I built a coop and only put up a 2'x5' shelf for the hens to roost on. They are laying eggs on it but my ol' lady keeps saying I need to build nesting boxes. I say if it's not broke don't fix it! Any wise words? Thanks
Anyone know where to get chicks in Oregon? I live near Mt. Hood so maybe somewhere near there. I know the feed stores carry some in spring but they never look too good. Thanks.
I recently switched my flock to layer feed too. I use Payback feed. Its cheap and they like it and the production of eggs has gone up. Not sure if it has hormones or not the ingredient label doesn't say, I hope it doesn't but it seems to be working.
I am wanting to start a flock of meat birds but not sure which breed is worth the time. I have a flock of 6 layers right now and they are pretty low maintenance. I live in western Oregon we have two seasons, August and winter so if that makes a difference in what breed to pick please help. Also...
