Does anyone know where I can get just a couple of Egyptian Fayoumi, that won't cost me an arm and a leg? I had my first one and it was so attached to me, I loved it. I let it out for awhile and a neighbor's cat killed it. I live outside of Barstow CA if anyone knows of a breeder please let me...
I see some of you have built your own coops, I live in the Mojave Desert and we have strong winds more often than not. Can anyone recommend something that will help shelter them from the sand blow but not hold in the heat?
I'm going to show my son your pictures, he's in the process of building a new (used) coop right now. I had to give all of my chickens away about two years ago when a solar farm was built across the road and caused the fox to find its food elsewhere. My chickens became its main source, I was...
I tried all the advice you all gave me, but I lost her. This is probably sound cruel but I did an autopsy and found that her crop had not attached to the stomach. Well I think I was looking at the stomach.
I usually buy two just in case I lose one. But I have had 3-4 and ended up with one left. I really liked that guy. They built a solar farm across from me and whatever used to hunt there is now haunting here. When my girlfriend, who had given me that one, brought me another one to add to my...
I was told by a feed store about the gator aid. I just gave her some grits, not a lot, and she is up walking a little and she did poop a little. She is chirping better so I am hopeful this will work. I will keep your recipe handy. Thanks.
It's crop was really flat this morning and it was weak.I have it in dirt but Ithink the feed sstore had shaving. I live in the desert so I don't have to be worried about keeping her warm, in fact the other two I got at the same time are also in the house so they don't get too hot.
I have been...
My granddaughter picked out a baby last Monday and it is having a hard time getting it's food and water to leave its crop. Does anyone have any advice?
Yeah they are free range, I am in the desert where we are having alot of wild flowers blooming. I also go a really course bag of scratch the last couple of times that have some really hard seeds. I think I will stick the lay crumble for awhile and see if that helps. Thanks for the answer, I...
Some of my egg yolks are looking more red than orange. My chickens are mutts so I can't give you a breed. I have never had this happen before. Does anyone have any ideas? Or are they so orange they just look red?
