Blackened vent on my Pekin duck

Here is where they stay a lot but they are not confined here. It is my chicken run that is netted. They also have a big pond. They spend very little time there unless I close up the chicken coop and run them out. I'm struggling with adding photos.

Blackened vent on my Pekin duck

My adult Pekin duck's vent area is turning black. I have had 2 others die in the past 3 months from what appears to be the same thing before I realized anything was seriously wrong. I just noticed her vent this morning. Any knowledge or recommendations for me?

My banty's toes are crusted, stinky, and she's barely walking...help

The vet treated for bacterial for her ears with the Amikacin followed by oral Baytril. I hope this is not the case with the flesh eating bacteria. Her skin symptoms are certainly not improving since the office visit.

My banty's toes are crusted, stinky, and she's barely walking...help

Here are some pics just now. When I had her flipped on her back it looked like she has some of these scabby places on her wings as well.

My banty's toes are crusted, stinky, and she's barely walking...help

My white Silkie Bantam, 7mos. old, has been walking poorly for about 1 month. She chose to stay by herself, laying around and not roosting, which was unusual behavior. I picked her up to check her over about 10 days ago and she was really warm to the touch and had crust on her beak and around...

    Emaciated Easter_Egger

I have a sweet chicken who I have had only minimal worries about until yesterday. She is 10 months old and nicely feathered out. I found her on the coop floor and she aparently had not roosted during the night and could not hold herself on the roost. I brought her in to isolate her and then...

    Sick Bourbon Hen

She hasn't laid in several weeks. It is in the high 80s and 90s this week but she's been sick for at least a month. We also have lots of shade and light breezes.

    Sick Bourbon Hen

I picked up some vitamins and electrolytes today and will see if that helps. I'm hopeful but not thinking that's the problem.

    Sick Bourbon Hen

I posted yesterday than I have a 1yo Bourbon who has been acting sickly for some time, wings down, puffed back feathers, losing weight, but she is still eating and drinking just not as much as she usually has. She stands in her water often during the day. So I have watched her a bit closer...

    Sick Bourbon Hen

I am setting up a quarantine foe her now so that I can see her poop and keep her isolated. There is no vet in our area who will look at chickens or turkeys. I also offered her so bird seed with sunflower seeds and she seemed quite interested and went after it.

    Sick Bourbon Hen

My 1yo Bourbon Red hen has been acting like she doesn't feel good for some time. She walks around with her wings down and her back feathers puffed. She stands in her water bowl a few times per day. She is not eating much and is clearly losing weight. She is not her usual active self. My...

DO turkey eggs require higher humidity?

Robert, I too an in South Texas and have 15 turkey eggs currently hatching under my the hen. My problem is that she seems to be cracking up their shells today. I want to put them in the incubator to keep them safe, so I've set it up. I too will get the humidity up and get them in. I have...

My 5 month old Emu has fluid leaking from its ear!

So I've sent some pics of the ear hole and it is looking less wet. He is walking around again slowly and acting a bit more normal attempting to eat grass.

My 5 month old Emu has fluid leaking from its ear!

This morning I noticed that my baby emu was down while my other two were out running (acting normally). Upon closer inspection I notice no cuts, lost feathers, nor any other suspicious findings; except its neck was a bit wet and there was apparently clear fluid leaking from one of its ear...

Hen building a clutch without fertile eggs?

I have a young adult Bourbon Red hen who has built a large clutch and is now sitting on it times 3 days. I thought we had lost her a few days ago only to find her quietly on a well camoflaged nest. The kicker is we have no tom anywhere. I guess that I didn't think she would make a clutch...
