Discouraging hens from laying in spot

I've seen many threads on getting your hens to lay in their nest boxes but I can't find any information on techniques for discouraging hens from laying in a particular spot. I have about 50 free range hens and of course with free range comes the daily Easter egg hunt. My issue is lately they...

Chickens wont stay by their new coop!!

So I recently moved my chickens into a new more user friendly coop approximately 300 yards away from their old coop. The old coop was in my barn. The chickens are free range and would come and go through a chicken door in the wall as they please. The issue was they would then go in the barn (the...

    Lame ducklings

I'm having issues with two of my ducklings. I recently moved them to a bigger pen and the next day two of them appear to have hurt their legs. The first (a female white layer) almost seemed like she was pigeon toed and would constantly step on her foot and trip. Which progressed to her now not...

    Messy ducklings!!

Hey all, Long time viewer, first time poster here. I have been keeping chickens for awhile (both hens and broilers) and recently decided to dabble in ducks because I have a very large pond for them and we enjoy duck eggs. I am currently brooding 15 ducklings, 13 white layers and a mated pair of...
