    When you're predator proofing don't forget to dig down 10-12 inches and bury the hardware cloth so animals can't dig under.     If it's open on bottom get some 90deg angles and bolt them together. This would very supportive I would think. Or just run a couple 2x4 under it and secure it with screws.

    I have to agree with everyone else. I would think PVC would be slick. Also like someone said I would think it would wick away heat in the winter. I've used 2x4s with no issues thus far.
