    The Sizzle Thread!

Actually that's a lie I like silkies lol, I like the Silkies with frizzled feathers most though, I like the top knots and beards and frizzly ones are even better, so I can have a normal Silkie roo and a bunch of frizzly girls and make lots of frizzly Silkie babies :D would that work?

    The Sizzle Thread!

Good idea, although I'm not the greatest fan of silkies, I quite like regular soft feathered birds, and the frizzle makes them snazzy(and unable to fly?). They'll be in my rabbitry keeping flies and bugs to a minimum and mixing up the "compost" so I'm trying to find something interesting and...

Oh wow, that sounds horrible! No wonder they're called frazzles!I'm not really up to date with chicken genetics, they're much more complicated than dogs or cattle, glad to have learnt something new today :) Poor frazzles :/

incubator ideas! post your ideas for home made incubators, whether they work or not~

Does anyone use reptile heat cord for their incubators? I know it's used for reptile incubators, usually you line the whole container, either an esky, fridge(lots of people use glass door wine fridges or bar fridges) or styro box, with aluminium foil, zig zag the heat cord up and down and around...

    Guinea fowl and rabbits

One part I'm concerned about is the guineas pooping all over everything too, would silkie chickens work better since they're not flyers? I just want something that would rather stay on ground/worm bed level and mix through the droppings and eat the bugs and flies and not make too much of a mess.

    Guinea fowl and rabbits

Hi guys, does anyone know if you can keep guinea fowl in a rabbitry to keep the bugs and flies down? I'm planning in advance here so any suggestions would be great. I understand they like to roost at night, so if I kept them in a separate part of the shed until they worked out where they were...
