Not sure, it pipped and started to zip last night, when woke this AM I noticed. I took a shower and checked no further progress I took it out to help it was already dead, I suspect it was dead when I woke up.
I have a pair of Porcelain D'Uccles hatched in November and December. My Cockerel is very unhappy without more females his size. I won't sell one without the other. Also want to concentrate on LF. $50 or best offer plus shipping. They are NPIP tested and clean. PM me for pictures.
And now the power went out. Not a good hatch week for me. Moved the incubator with the pipped chick into the room with a UPS and now it stopped moving. Oye!!!!!
Look like that is what happened. Looks like he got stuck between the thermometer and the bottom of the incubator and could not flip itself up. I have one more viable left in the incubator. Hope it hatches ok.
I have a question, I have a chick who started pipping and zipping yesterday afternoon/ early evening, and had stopped. no new progress, I am not even seeing movement from inside the egg. Should I be concerned or is this common? I know the rule is it can take up to 48 hours from pip to hatch...
Day 7 candling did not go well, no clear signs of development, a couple blood lines and several clears, hoping I just missed the deleting chick. Keep your fingers crossed. Think they might not have been packed very well.
Give that chick ALOT of attention, constant or it will get depressed and stop eating and drinking. I had to buy a couple birds when I had a hatch with only one survivor. Fingers cross he gets some friends soon.
Long time since I wrote anything on this forum. I might be feeling a bit of chicken mama separation as I sold 6 out of the 8 chicks I hatched. I am keeping a pair of porcelian D'Uccles, my question is does anyone have experience breeding Polish Frizzles? I know you can't breed 2 Frizzles...
