Yes and no. If i incubate my Quail eggs i tend to use the ones that don't have that many spots or dark splotches. Mainly what i see is at day 3-7 you can see red. And if you have the really dark eggs with alot of spots then you might not be able to see them as much.

Usually i don't let my eggs sit for more then 7 days without incubation.All my friends told me that if they are out more than 7 days your hatching rate decreases. if they are not more than 7 days or you dont know you can take all if you can and see which ones would hatch.Hope this helps!
