Her eye had shrunk down, although still looked either scarred, or like the eyelid was covering it, she seemed to be doing great, and then died on me :(.
So far out of my Polish - I have 2 hatched and 2 pipped. I need to set everyone together instead of these day apart hatch days. I can bring myself to leave the fluffy ones in with the eggs for more than a day, and I think I'm screwing up my hatches with the opening. The BCM's the day before...
I'm a nerd, hatch day was today for the bcms, not yesterday. I've got 6 babies and 1 pip so far. :). Another amazing hatch of shipped eggs from survival seed sowers. Fingers crossed for my polish hatch tomorrow! Happy hatching everybody!
I'm so jealous! My BCM's are due today, and I haven't really been able to check viability because the eggs are so dark! No rolling air cells though, and everything that I could see looked normal. No pips yet either :( Hoping for the best! My Polish are due Sunday and they candled great...
Thanks! I did run the search before I asked, but wanted to see if anyone online had new/firsthand information. It seemed to get better for awhile, then another chick in sickbay must have pecked it. I guess I'll search eye care next.
That is awesome! I just hatched 12/13 shipped light brahma eggs. I'm ecstatic. 1 never developed and I didn't lose another. I'd been losing about 50% around lockdown, and now I think my humidity was too high. I stagger hatches- I have two turning incubators and 1 for lockdown. I laid down my...
Whoops, I'm a moron, I thought I was posting in the April Hatchalong. Here is my update for the weekend of 4/25 set: A couple of the Polish were cracked and one broken. I tried candle wax. I don't see anything going on in those, but not giving up hope just yet. It's basically impossible to...

Thanks so much for your advice! I'll make an appointment with the vet as soon as they open. I've got lots of shipped hatchlings that haven't been exposed to the older birds, so I sure hope not. The (hopefully) good news is -...
Hi!
I'm relatively new to caring for my own flock, and I started out with lots of uninformed enthusiasm, grabbing a chicken here, two there, 5 in Mississippi, etc. Then I actually started doing research and reading about NPIP certification - I talked to my State Ag department and should have...
My fowl spreadsheet says I'm at 223. That's not completely insane right? That counts my chicks, adult chickens, guinea, and ducklings. Totaaaaallly acceptable and not crazy at all.
Yes! survivalseedsowers is the seller. It's really difficult to candle the super dark eggs, but the air cells seem fine, one maybe a little jagged. This is my second purchase from that seller, the first one was 8 Salmon Faverolle eggs, and 7/8 hatched! I'm pretty sure that's my record for...
