I have 2 hens I brought home as baby's on 6/15/17, neither has laid an egg yet.
One is a Buff Orphington, the other is an Amaurecauna (poor spelling).
Both turned about 16 weeks on the week the time changed, and the days got short and colder, so I figure that has something to do with it. but...

I question though, how necessary do you find the hardware cloth/lath under the floor deck? What kinda critters are known for ripping through flooring decking?
