i think the problem is that these hens are lazy and dont want to leave the ground.. the spot they perch is lower than the boxes.. i have mice perches but they dont go on them they gust on on this wood box about 1.5 ft tall.. i really would like them higher off the ground...

i can collect them before bed but i heard 60-70f is the the only safe temp... i collect them ever day of two these days but i can do better.... it is not freezing probably 36 at the lowest and not for long. also it is on its way up in temp
i hear that eggs need to be stored at 60-70 degrees, but it is cold out side how does that work? if the eggs are out side at night can i assume that they are not fertile any more? Do i have to wait till it is warmer at night?
Could i sell non gendered, random mut breed, egg laying, day old chicks? and if i could who much do you think i could get for them? I am hoping the chickens can pay for there own chicken tunnel through the garden, since i got the incubator all working.
