I'm also trying to figure out a drawbridge style door/ramp. I think I have an idea of how to raise it/close it, but it's tricky how to make it want to open...

Also, we got the laying box roughed in. Needs dividers, shingles, and permanent supports but we're that much closer! How long do I need to raise chicks before I can fill this thing? Or just brood em in the coop?

We were able to get the decking on the roof over the weekend. We'll be adding shingles as soon as weather will allow.

That's a great idea. I was thinking of having the overhang to the east, but if we did it over the door it'd add protection!
