Yeah, it was pretty much blue -used to be red - that was distinctive.
Bodies put into black plastic bags and taken away for disposal by special collection.
... does this kinda thing happen a lot to people? Blink twice and whole flock wiped out in 3 days?

Only thing is they are not really domesticated - take a lot of TLC/ very high maintenance.
I had 2 but neither lasted long - both would only eat meal worms and were not comfortable around rest of the flock, sadly.
They are quite skittish/wild, and when they jump they really launch into the air...

Yeah really sad. I spoke to local poultry supply store and they recommended a vaccine that I hadn't realised was available - for Newcastle disease. Needs to be refrigerated apparently - then one drop per bird every three months.

I have what appears to be a fluey juvenile (4m) cemani rooster raised from chick age.
He's been isolated now from rest of flock - found him to be v underweight on Friday while dusting the flock for mites.
He has very distinct rattle/gurgle now - get the impression he's on the way...
