    Pigeons and Chickens??

I'm only interested in adults. So based on what you are saying, it should be fine as long as I have a roost higher up in the pen for them to sit on. My other concern is health. Will wild pigeons transfer disease to my chickens via their poop?

    Pigeons and Chickens??

I currently have 7 chickens in a fairly large pen and coop. (Pen 14x10x7, coop 8x4x4) I'm getting into bird hunting and need pigeons to train my dog. Flooring for coop inside old barn

    Coop floor?

What about insulation? We are not insulating anything else, but what's the thought on insulating the floor? Is it more important? We live in KY. Winter can get old but not extreme.

New and need advise about chicken breed combination

Thanks for all the advice. We've found a local chicken breeder and she has silkies, polish, and frizzle. I think we're just going to go with 3 of each. Being smaller breeds, I think it will be a better use of our space.

New and need advise about chicken breed combination

Hi. I'm new to raising chickens. I'd like advise about getting multiple breeds of chickens and keeping them together. We're thinking of getting 2 buff Orpington, 2 light brahmas, 2 silkies, and 2 polish. I'm building a 8x10 run and a 4x8x4 coop so I should have enough room. My question is...
