I would definitely bring everyone, mom and eggs and/or babies inside. I always bring my broody hens inside, that way I can keep a close eye on them, and don't have to worry about something dreadful happening. I have had chicks drown trying to get water, and other hens attacking the babies. It...
I found a good way to get the Vitamin E into the chicken. I bought the one that says Vitamin E in "prelacaps" with Selenium. It's easy to make a small incision into the the perlecap with something sharp. I squeeze the oily stuff into the open end of a syringe. Then I cook some elbow macaroni. I...

Here she is watching me work. She's doing better the only problem is this she is getting stronger she thinks that she can do things and then she tries and she can't and when I pick her up she doesn't want me to put her down so she like sort of Claws and climbs all over me and that gets to be a...
Thanks. It is a lot of work and her Improvement is slow and up and down, but lately she seems to want to be sitting up and sort of watching me do things so I take her around so she doesn't just sit with her head down. but her neck is still pretty twisted up. I wonder if she's going to be...
Well it's been 2 weeks now and she is still in the race. I've been consistently giving her the vitamins, and she's actually doing a little bit better. She's eating now without me putting the food in her mouth for her and she holds up her head and looks around sometimes so I think she's doing...
Well it's been a couple weeks and she's still in the running, in fact , she's actually doing a bit better. She eats now without me having to put the food directly in her mouth. HORRAH !! She holds her own head up sometimes alert and looking around.

She Isn't t going to die anytime soon I don't think but it's hard to watch she doesn't seem to be unhappy however and when I hold her she burrows into me and makes these really sweet little cooing sounds. I think she likes all the extra attention.
We had a couple days that felt like she was responding. But the past couple days she seems to be declining. It's so sad having a chicken that's dying. She doesn't seem to be in any pain but it's painful to see it, to watch the process, loss of function, loss of quality, loss of joy. Maybe...
It's a lot like helping my father with Alzheimer's. I had to provide familiar stimulation to help him remember who he was. I think a lot of that stuff can be applied to chickens too, they're a lot like humans I think.
thanks Wickedchicken. yes, the brain, prayer, love all work together reaching for a new pathway. It's all electricity anyway just traveling around it just needs to find another path to take . At least that's my theory who knows if it's true.
She had a great day. Thank you everybody for your prayers. She was outside for a number of hours today with the other chickens around she did great I brought her in for a rest now she's inside again I think rest is important for her healing. this is amazing
then all of a sudden she's up side down again
That's how it goes but shorter and shorter down times and now the other chickens are coming around her and stimulating her social brain.
