    Rattlesnake attack :(

Thanks chixie - I can't even imagine what I'd do if I found one in the house:ep! Whispering Winds I'm not sure exactly what snake away is besides some stuff hubby bought from our closest farm supply store. I don't allow chemicals in the yard so I think that is why he is putting it outside the...

    Rattlesnake attack :(

Yesterday morning I was up early as usual but instead of going outside and getting started with the garden and flocks I laid back down (wasn't feeling my best so tried to catch an extra hour). I was awakened by my son asking "Mom, did you put a play snake in the quail coop?" That jolted me awake...

    How long should I wait?

I want to add to my existing flock which are about 19 weeks old. I have some chicks that are about 5 weeks old now. How long should I wait before I try to combine the two groups? I mean at what age should the younger chicks be before I attempt this. They are just about fully feathered out but...

    Not my Michael!

Quote: I'm a MJ fan also and also found myself emotional along with those I saw on the t.v. at the memorial. It's so very sad. He battled vitiligo and lupus. His head badly burned affecting his hair growth. People can be cruel in everyday life but in the limelight cruel can be magnified...

Steve McNair died- a tiny rant

Quote: He was ACQUITTED. Jury in court of law in the country you reside in found him not guilty on all counts. There it is. I'm sure there will be some other reason found to call some one guilty who was found not guilty. Just wanted to put that out there. Have at it.

    Quail Pens/Housing

I've never had quail before now. Started with 'bout 50 quail eggs in the 'bator. By the time it was all said and done I had 4 live quail. It was my first hatch and even though about 15 hatched only the 4 survived and I think alot of that had to do with my inexperience with hatching and raising...

?? Average Home Flock Size ????

This family of 7 has 24 chickens and 4 quail (with over 40 quail eggs waiting to hatch in the 'bator). Our chickens don't free range so we provided a nice sized closed in run outside their coop.
