    Good article, covers most things going on with Chickens. However, I do have a question about my 2 Wyandottes. They are about 30 or so weeks old. They are raised together, one of them is laying, started about a week ago. the other one is not. How do I get #2 to start laying?

    When do Wyandottes generally start laying?

    We have two SLW's about 19 weeks, not seeing any indication that they are ready to start laying. It is a little warm here in the New Orleans area which may have something to do with that. Also they are not "nesting", just perching on their roost. Any suggestions?

    If you are correct, looking at your picture I think I have a roo and a hen. I love the roo, he jumps on my arm as soon as I open the coop and just sits their. I also have an Austrolorp, which is kind of aggresive. I think it might be a roo. I bought three hoping to get 2 hens. Oh well...
