    Kimberly I am interested in the Dorkings. Are they the ones in the pics? Beautiful birds. I think I have enough lumber to build my coop. I will post pics of my progress. I can't wait to have birds in the back yard!

    Thanks for the advice Wisher. My local Farmers market have RIR, Barred Rock, and I forget the others. I am going to my first auction tomorrow night. I'm not buying anything, just want to see what's out there. Explain the chicken math to me as I'm a newbie to the chicken fever.

    What city are you near Kimberly? What other birds, besides Dorkings, are in your flock? And to all my peoples in Alabama, what birds have you found that do well in our brutal summers? I'm in Montgomery and have my eye on several breeds but would like to hear from everyone about their favorites.

    Thanks Bamadude. I'm looking for colorful birds, fun to watch, good egg layer and good to eat when they stop laying. Like medium size birds with some meat. I like the Rhose island Reds and Isbars. Still looking for a couple more. Probably gonna have 4 to 5 birds. Thanks for all the help.
