OK, have not seen the bird yet, today. Figures...Great-Nephews from the "city" are here for the day, and we can't find it. They did help me take some pics of the eggs. If the consensus is pheasant, perhaps I should go to the "Pheasants and Partridge" forum? I would hate to leave you "Turkey"... -

Thank you all, for all your help. I saw the pics of the Chukars. I do not see any indication of red beak or legs on mine, though. I am now leaning toward a pheasant. I did go out and got about a foot and a half from it. It would let me get no closer, but did not run-just walked under the pine... -
