I have 2 lefhorn hens and 6 rhode island reds they have been laying eggs like crazy and we can only eat but so many. I was wondering where can I sell them?
They should be ok as long as they can quickly get to safety when needed, I too have dog houses all around my yard, they have never been attacked,. As far as ground predictors my dogs do a good job keeping them away

If you put there shelter right near the pond and put feed there, also take away their "liter box" if there shelter and food are there and the liter box is gone they will have no choice but to get use to it. I had the same problem with my pekin ducks but once they get used to it they will swim...
I was wondering, when one of my hens goes broody, will she sit on any eggs? Or does she have to recognize them. Can I put any fertile eggs I want to hatch under her? Will she still take care of them?
