Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I finally have my flock thinned to a good number. I am at 12 total and have a good variety. I'm also still working on thinning out my bunny herd too. Just have alot going on with being preggo! And all I want to do is sleep all of the time! I'm so...
I would definitely say the white is a rooster. I really would like to see a pic of the blacks face. Close up on the beak so I could see any possibility of a comb starting. My black hen is at the beginning of this posting next to a rooster if that helps at all. This is my 4month old black black hen.
Still kind of hard to tell. I have 2 chicks that I got at 4 weeks of age and now they are 12 weeks and only about the last week I have been pretty certain they were pullets. Yours doesn't seem to have as much fluff to it as mine do. But their feathers come up really close to their nostrils.
Other than the silkies those are my chicks from ApiaryandAviary. They are super sweet babies! As you can tell they kept running into my phone. I had to separate the little cochin rooster out because the silkies are ganging up in him and making his comb bleed :(
I am not complaining at all!!! I love my babies. They are so sweet. They run and jump into my arms from their cages already. ( I use large pet bunny cages, good for holding the shavings and has good ventilation) They have actually made my 3 porcelian silkie chicks come around much faster. I...
@ApiaryandAviary I would love more hens from the babydoll cochins. I have another rooster blooming out of the last group. That makes 3 roos and 5 hens. I still can't tell any difference in the teeny tinys. Are all of them half cochin and half baby doll?
I'm just glad I realized it before I got here. I feel bad sending them back there. Who knows if they will be taken care of properly and then just sold off when they are no longer showing signs.
UGH!!! Why do people sell sick chickens!?!? I went today and didn't even make it home with the chickens because they were sneezing and snotty. I guess it's my fault for not checking and trusting people but dang on it why are people so dishonest?
So I guess they all do their own thing! I came home to them not in their yard. Simply because Sesame will not leave Yetta. So sesame and Fran were just having out in the temporary coop watching Yetta sit on eggs. :lau
My silkie I got in early May has finally gone broody! And her sister insists on cramping into the nest box with her! Anyone ever had a rooster sit by the hens side? He doesn't seem to want to leave her.
Chicken love!! My broody hens sister snuggled into the nest box with her and their rooster is getting as close as possible. (Please excuse the makeshift "coop" their coop is being built)
Ah! It doesnt show me a face on my mobil version. But i switched over to desktop and fpund it :bun
That totally makes sense. Guess that i will catch on with time. Thats why i joined the forum.
Oh well poopy! Guess I need to read on it and watch for any abnormalities. Where do I get vaccinations? Just in case my broody silkie hatches any chicks I would like to vaccinate them.
Ok good :) I don't think any of the rest of my chickens are vaccinated. Is it a good idea to vaccinate the rest. I don't believe I am going to add anymore fro outside of my flock this year. Maybe only some more for ApiaryandAviary IF and only if I do. I need to put a halt on things here. Just...
