Hi I'm
New to chickens and this is our first flock, they range from 21-24 weeks. I noticed two small bumps on the wellsummers wattles a few days ago and when I looked at her this morning it looked like this. Pox? Mites? This is the only location I can see so far. All the other birds look ok, I...
Yes we contemplated that style too, but I wanted to have two feeder spots on one pipe. Someone several pages back posted one like this and used 45's. We will test it out and switch things up if need be ;)
My husband just finished this, we used a T with 2 90's (wondering if we need 45's). I filled it up and it didn't really fill into the elbows. I had to reach my hand in and pull it out. Is this normal? Will the chickens pull it out? Or would 45's help? I use a whole grain feed, not pellets. It's...
I have a 15 week barred rock that looks just like that. Also all my pullers come running when I walk out the back door. They've learned treats real quick. Several if them will also jump up on my back if I bend down.
I asked about this one a while ago but it was still young, now that it's a little older id love more opinions
My gut says roo. It's a 12 week silver cochin
If it's a roo he will sadly have to go :( he's so pretty and great temperament.
When do they start showing their "roo" characteristics?
I live in the SF Bay Area, CA. We just finished our coop and run. We do not deal with daytime predators. We do have an occasional cat wander through the yard, are they a threat to adult chickens? I've yet to see any hawks in our area, but I guess theres always that chance. We do have racoons...
your Wyandotte looks very similar to mine (I have a golden laced who is 6 weeks). Although mine has just started to turn red, but overall it looks just like yours (coloring wise), waddles too. Im pretty sure mine is a Pullet.
We picked up 8 "sexed" chicks at our local feed store 6 weeks ago. This one I fear might be a roo. 6 weeks today. It's a silver laced cochin. Legs are huge and thick, waddles (we have a few 9 week olds that barley have waddles), stance, slow to feather etc. we sadly are not allowed to have...
