    How long?

They are, and I think/thought that the WH were too. Either way, they are both gorgeous ducks

    How long?

That was my thought too, maybe I'll start looking for another WH or two. I like that breed and a few others. I have a lady that raises them and she has one WH for me when I'm ready, maybe she has another too. She tried to sell me a pair of Saxony's, but I don't need or want another male

    How long?

I was told by a few people that it was hard on them if you do intro's in the winter. Maybe it does depend on the breed you have though, such as your Muscovy's. I'd sure love to have a full season of egg laying this spring/summer/fall. Stock pile eggs and never eat a chicken egg from the store again!

    How long?

That's how I ended up this last time, but I messed around for much too long trying different things. Their coop is only about 16 sq ft, but last time I was separating them completely (new duck with a friendly old duck, and two ornery ones together). One couple in the coop at night and the other...

    How long?

We are a bit concerned come spring, when we want to bring in 2 more ducks for egg making. Last time we did that, we had a dry spell for over 6 months, lol

    How long?

We fried up both duck eggs and had them with pancakes. They were awesome!

Not yet, maybe today. Got a third egg this morning too!

    How long?

We got another egg this afternoon, intact! They act way different now, spending most of their days outside the coop, even in the intense wind we've had for the last couple days. Now I just need to wait for a couple more months to get 2 more ducks and we can start hoarding dozens of eggs :)

    How long?

I do put it out, but they've never eaten any of it. Hoping for a good egg tomorrow :)

Do you think the egg looked like that because it's her first, or because she or aflak beat it up? We dont have any nesting boxes in there, is that something I should build for her?

Boy, I'm glad you said that, i was going to eat that this morning, lol. Because of the oxygen intrusion?

How do you help them with the depression though?

    After the fox attack

We are in Colorado. Its been super cold here for a while. I found some nightcrawlers in the fridge from fishing season. They LOVED them! I put them in their water dish and they sucked them right up, lol. I think by the end of vacation, they will be on their way to recovery.

    After the fox attack

I dont see many worms here, and the ground is probably frozen for at least 6 inches. I do have some meal worms that they enjoy, and a ton of lettuce. We'll hang out today, as long as it warms up past 10 degrees, :)

    After the fox attack

I never thought of it that way, PTSD, but it makes sense seeing how close ducks are in tuned with each other. I have been trying to go out thee, but they're not the type of ducks that enjoy our company. I don't think they were socialized with humans much when they were younger. I have the rest...

    After the fox attack

My remaining two ducks rarely leave the safety of the coop. Now, before the attack, they ONLY went in there for bed time and hung out outside all day, even in some pretty crappy weather (wind, cold, snow). FYI, I have since then beefed up their security now with 3 strands of electric fence...

    How long?

Yeah, we found that out the hard way, that ducks are pretty rough on newbie's. Our WH got picked on, and we had to quarantine her like you said. I built a temporary wall from expanded metal to separate them in the coop (it's only 4' x 4' inside). I just NEED those eggs :D Store bought chicken...
