    My leukemia's back.

I am surviving! I do remember you and many others that have been here for a long time, so many of us here were sharing Rachels posts and she truly was an inspiration to everyone, it is good that people come here to share an illness they have, this is a unique place for people to be able to talk...

    My leukemia's back.

Just popping in to say hello after my long absence! I guess that many of you here are new to Rachels site that continues to be here in memory of such an indomitable soul as our Donrae. I really need to catch up with those members that have a good memory and can remember me. Tell sourland that I...

    Dying Chicken

Thank you for attaching the article about hens passing away due to old age, my hen will be coming back home with me this evening so she will be warm and have the option to eat and drink if she wants. I have 2 roosters in the coop and I don't want either of them to be bothersome to her. Thank you...

    Dying Chicken

I have an elderly chicken that is dying, she is very lethargic and closes her eyes frequently, she has eaten and is drinking, she is pooping normally and last evening I isolated her from her flockmates and returned her to the coop this morning as she seemed quite bright in herself, she has been...

    Lethargic Rooster

Thank you for your informative help, he went into the coop this evening and was eating and drinking normally, I was observing him for about 15 minutes and he eventually took his place at the top of the perch and settled there. I certainly will continue with his vitamins, there are two other...

    Lethargic Rooster

To be honest I don't know if it is designed for laying chickens, the label is just chicken feed, I will check the contents listing tomorrow, it is night time here now. Whatever is in the feed I have been using it for many years without any issues, it would be difficult for me to feed my rooster...

    Lethargic Rooster

I am in France, the rooster sleeps with my other chickens in the coop and all have lived here together for three years. No new birds added. The coop is cleaned every day and fresh bedding is put into the coop on a daily basis. The feed is purchased in large sacks and is for chickens...

    Lethargic Rooster

He is three years old, he eats and drinks normally when he is in the coop, poops are slighty liquid. Yes, have had a few sick chickens before and thanks to previous advice from you most have gone on to live long lives. One thing I will add is that he can get up on to his perch at night but...

    Lethargic Rooster

My three year old Sussex Rooster is lethargic, his comb is bright red but he seems to have no energy and spends most of his time laying down or standing with his head between hs legs. I have today started giving him some vitamin B complex, I am at a loss as to how to help him otherwise. Any...

    Advice for lonely goose?

The market didn't have any goslings, sadly my goose gave up eating and died this morning...buried her this afternoon and am feeling so bad that I didn't act sooner to get her something to live for, she just pined so much for the loss of her male partner. I will never have another like her, she...

    Advice for lonely goose?

I have a female goose that has isolated herself from the other geese and her partner died last year. I am wondering whether it would be a good idea to buy a young gosling or two for her to be companions. My existing male gander attacked her when I tried putting them all together in her housing...

    Rooster has contracted claw

Thanks; that would be ideal but we are in France. He is a youngster, a few months old and it could well be nerve damage as there were no breaks to his leg from the x rays, I will suggest my friend try Vitamin B complex. I doubt he was vaccinated for Mareks disease but that could be the issue...

    Rooster has contracted claw

I have a friend that has a rooster that is unable to walk properly as one foot has the claws tightly contracted. The rooster has been seen by a Vet and given pain medication and antibiotics all to no avail as despite being rested there is no improvement. The Vet did x rays and found no breaks...

    My leukemia's back.

Thank you for your wise words, he does realise he is depressed and acknowledges that this is not normal behaviour. I dare not speak to our physician as he would consider that to be an intrusion, I did suggest he see her but he will have nothing to do with it, he feels he can sort things out with...

    My leukemia's back.

No, he hasn't although I suggested he see a professional...he refuses to speak to anyone about it except for me...all he wants to do is run away from everything and wants no responsibility for anything..so difficult but we will work through this...thanks for your input, I just wish he would...
