Hi all, I'm not well versed in poop yet but I have at least one or two chicken who have had diarrhea for the last few weeks. I gave them some Sulfadimethoxine Soluble Powder for five days and I haven't seen a difference. I'm not sure it's coccidiosis like I thought. It has been hot here...
So here is a more recent picture of the suspected roo. The person I got him/her from said she could just be older but at the time I got them they were all about the same size at 4 weeks old and she's grown more ever since. Developed comb, waddle etc... Everyone else still has pretty pale combs...
Thank you! I let them out in a pen I move around the backyard everyday when I get home. When they are bigger I think they can have the whole yard to roam. Yes snakes are a concern here. We've had a couple we had to get rid of. I was wondering about having a door for the coop even if they're...
We just about finished our coop this evening. We just have half the sand to go and we're done. The flock is spending their first night in the new coop and run. I was told I don't need a coop door if the run is predator proof? I have cloth all around... We also put a gutter on the back of the...
Thoughts? They are about 4--5 weeks old I think. Hard to get a good shot. He's the larger of the group. Starting to show some pink on the comb and it's a bit larger. The other two are still pale and small.

We have 3, 4 week old chicks. We converted what was a very nice dog house into our chicken coop. You can lift the roof (hinged) and it's insulated. We made the run around it since we already had a boarder, dirt, etc... It is 8x8. Plan to add an outside perch and a layer of sand to the run this...
My husband and I just acquired 3, 3-4 week old chicks ( rhode island reds). We are in the process of finishing our coop and run. We live in a neighborhood and only have about 1/2 acre fenced in. Any advice is appreciated! Especially on how to keep everything clean. I definitely don't want my...
