You're right, in full predator mode, a shock collar wouldn't do much. I was assuming it was more of a "Hey this squeaky toy is fun" reaction, rather than a full attack, based on the mouthy play. But yes, if the dog is VERY intent, and locked-on to the chickens rather than casually and playfully...- SeaZaw

Hello everyone! Just got our first flock of four BPR ladies in March - Midge, Pepper, Gracie, and Rose. A few weeks ago, Gracie (but we thought it was Rose) disappeared while free ranging, and though we searched far and wide, we thought her doomed and replaced her with Penny (a buff Wyandotte)...- SeaZaw

I've got a treeing walker coonhound that initially was WAY too interested in my chickens - staring intently, ears up, tail wagging slowly, generally "excited with intent" posture (which is a lot for him, haha). He wasn't allowed direct access to the chickens until we broke him of his excited...- SeaZaw
