I have gray call duck pairs and extra drakes for sale. I also have a pair of white calls and black bibbed calls for sale. I do not ship, local pickup only.
I have just purchased standard silver appleyards. I won't have babies come off until the spring but if you are interested when I have some available let me know.
I had the same occurance to happen with a cat of ours. It had its whole back skin peeled off and was dry when we found it. I went to the local feed store and bought aqueous penicillin and used a seringe without the needle to apply it all over the wounds. It helped to dry it up and give a...

Hey Aerosmith, I bet we use the same feed mill Onslow feed & grain.
Steve
Steve you are right! I go to onslow feed and grain about once a week buying feed. Do you still have your standard cochins? You don't know anyone that has standard buffs do you?
I have a small white call duck that lays soft shell eggs as well. I have been giving her powdered limestone because she never seemed to eat the regular oyster shells. She had been laying up till this time but has stopped laying. It does say online that once you rule out nutrition an oyster...
I let mine out as well when I am outside in the afternoon. I do this mainly to keep an eye on them and make sure they stay out of our flowers and plants that will make them sick.
Standard Cochins have a large appearance but I am not sure about it protecting them from predators. We use to have large breed ducks that owls would attack and eat down into their ribcage. You also have to be wary of fox, coyote, etc. My pens are 6' high with wire covering the entire pen. As...
I agree tylan is the best option. You can use the water soluable type or injectable. 1cc for grown bird 1/2 cc for half grown or bantam. You can shoot the injectable type down the throat or inject into muscle for three days. Any bird that has been in contact will need to be treated as well.
I am looking for good quality spangled old english bantams, White Blacktail Japanese, and blue rosecomb bantams. Please let me know what you have available.
See if you can get some tylan 50 from your local feed store. It has always worked well for me. You can give full grown chicken 1cc, 1/2 grown or bantam 1/2cc tylan. You can either inject it or shoot it down their throat for three days. Should make it feel better in no time.
I would like to see the pictures of all you call duck breeders out there. Maybe we could form a breeder list with locations to help all of us with the call duck addiction!
I have baby call ducks and adults listed on craigslist if anyone is interested. I have white and gray calls ready to go now. I also have standard blue cochin chicks available. They are listed under outer banks and jacksonville adds. Give me a call if interested
Just give them some time. I have so gray calls that would fly up to the top of their pen whenever I came in. Now they will walk away fomr where I am changing water but come up to see what I am doing and play in the water. Just be easy around them and they should warm up to you in time

Take it off and watch the chicks over the next few days. If it gets dry you will have to moisten a towel with warm water tosoften it up. Don't try to pull it off or the intestines could come with it.
I had a rat snake last year. I took and relocated it and it ended up telling all its friends. I had about seven all lengths of rat snakes coming to the coop for about a month. The chickens were freaked out and wouldn't go into their house at all.
