We have a new member of the family. A 7 week old German Shepherd boy named Colt. I snapped some pics of him with the chickens so I had excuses to post his pictures here.
Im getting 6 a day from pullets that just came in to lay a couple weeks ago. I have 11 and I know at least 2-3 still aren't laying. I'm glad they started before winter as Im guessing now they will keep going all the way through.
Hello, I have not heard anything about this. However, I wouldn't doubt that if you live within city limits that this wasn't true. There is already noise ordinances in the city part. But I live in the agricultural zone of chowan county edenton. I guarantee they aren't banning BYC in a farming...
Thank you! He is actually pretty stand offish we me. He likes to puff up and make noises at me. But he so far hasn't dared to act on those emotions where the RIR does not show aggression with me except he out of nowhere tried to charge my boot today from the side while I was walking. I now know...
I went back through some photos to find some of the feet but none show them really. Found a couple that kind of do but hard to tell. But I recognize that coloring on the legs and feet as some of mine for sure got that trait in their genes and a couple look just like your photo of the legs I will...
Sorry I didn't see this before I posted again. Well it starts with a little olive oil, a brush, haha just kidding. My birds, especially the cockerels, are extremely shiney when in direct sunlight. Of course they are more oily then the pullets. But, I'd also like to think since beginning with my...
And Yea! You do see some Deleware. I have 4 Deleware pullets. I had a cockerel but found him a new home as 3 for 11 total pullets was too many.
This was the cockerel Matty Ice. Sorry I know this is not a Deleware focus thread but there is some red in there too!
With your background with proper RIR birds would you say my hatchery productions are decent quality going by these pics and my other pictures posted right before this? Their color seems solid to me.
I'm glad I do not have a trained eye because my production quality look great to me! What do you mean about the coloring on the beaks and legs. All mine have the brown in the beaks and the legs have brown in them and the cockerel has red in his legs and back of feet.
Almost 23 weeks. Not...
My boys ramped up at probably 15 weeks old and will now be 23 weeks on Friday. The RIR was the first to get his balls and has since calmed down a bit with the exception of the morning where he is freaking crazy. The golden laced Wyandotte really didn't get the juices flowing until almost 3 weeks...
Thanks I hope your right. I'm not super worried either way. I am more intrigued.
On a side note I wish everyone could have witnessed the hilarious cockerel fail I got to see today. My pullets were sitting on the back porch right on the edge this evening when my cockerel Elvis decided to mount...
