I'll finish the Corid (5-day) if it won't harm them. My coop is large and always kept super clean and dry. In their huge run there is a place that always stays super dry because it's under cover. And most of what's exposed is quite dry too. After a wet, wet June & 1/2 of July here in New...
Yes, I thought they're kind of old for Cocci too. I just started the Corid yesterday. And can I give them the yogurt mash during the Corid treatment? And can they have ACV right now too?
Funny thing, their appetites seem normal. They come a'runnin when I bring down tasty treats. Especially...
I'm also treating my flock with Corid for cocci. Started yesterday. So, I CAN put the ACV in their drinking water with the Corid?? I've been wondering about that since it has so many benefits. Thanks!!
I read your page. WOW. Excellent information!! Sounds to me like we have CRD in our coop. Since it only shows during the birds being stressed, overheated, cold or during molt. I have 1, possibly 2 in molt. And am treating with Corid due to weight loss.
I feel so confused about what to...
Yes, I'm treating what everyone here thinks is cocci. I know chickens don't get colds. And that's exactly what it sounds like to me is Vicks for birds. I just don't know about treating any respitory illness while treating for cocci. Jeez.... my poor birds.
Yesterday I started my flock on Corid because they're losing weight. While at the farm store I also picked up VetRx. The stuff sounds pretty amazing for "colds, roup, scaly legs, eye worm", etc. It's also super simple to use according to directions. Has anyone every come across this stuff...
I started my flock of mostly adult birds on Corid yesterday. They're all losing weight. I read the above post and am unclear if I should do the wet mash probiotic during the Corid treatment or only after. I did do it once yesterday. Thanks.
Hi. I'm not sure about the oregano oil (though I'm gonna look into it for myself) but I found something today called VetRx Veterinary Remedy for Poultry. It's for prevention & treatment of colds, roup, scaly legs, eye worm, etc. Just do a google search for "vet rx poultry". I haven't used it...
I just picked something up at our farm supply store today. It's called "VetRx" a Poultry Remedy. Here's what the box says.. "For more than 100 years, the proven VetRx formula has been used as a remedy in veterinary applications. Many poultry breeders and raisers report excellent results in...
I'm treating my flock right now for Cocci. I paid $20 for the Corid at our local Blue Seal farm supply. Not bad for saving some lives !! Best of luck to you.
Thanks a bunch everyone for helping me and my babies through this. I also just gave them the crumble, milk & yogurt mixture. They went at it a bit, but then the dang wind blew the coop door open so they ran full speed into our yard. But glad to see them enthusiastic. Hopefully I caught this...
Two days ago I lost my young hen. She only showed signs of sickness the day before she died. I picked her up and noticed how incredibly thin she had gotten. (In less than 24 hours of this, she died). I'm really worried about the rest of my flock now. (All pets) I have one roo, 2 RIR, 5 EE...
