It's just kind of odd, but with our broody hen we decided to give her a few, one egg that was added a day later was an after thought, and midway through the first week a weasel took an initial egg when the hen had gotten up for water & food, but I decided to give the hen a replacement egg for no...
No it did not hatch sadly.
Did an eggtopsy. Malpositioned. Its head was under its leg... It just got stuck. Yolk sac almost completely absorbed which was impressive.
And so no, the dud isn't under the hen, but the hen is on the last egg which is due soon for a pipping!
I actually am certain about the date.
The addition of the third egg due next week was way after the first two which had due dates a day apart.
The dates are as the should be, the one in the egg that's overdue is now coming on 48 hours overdue (from the 21 day mark).
I tried this. Very careful to leave inner membrane intact.
The chick itself doesn't move but the membrane did not appear dry.. Keeping it moist under heat lamp and wet cloth. What do you recommend?
Anyone on here think they could give me a hand? (:

I feel like "helping" them would cause more harm than good! I've read too many horror stories. But I'm not sure if it's come down to that already or not?
Hi there,
I have three eggs under a broody hen, one hatched on Sunday, 8/2/15, precisely on the day 21 day mark (hooray). I had one egg due this Monday, 8/3/15, being its 21 day mark (the third egg is a week out from being due). I know 21 days is only an average, but this egg is now 24 hours...
