Hi guys! Beautiful birds! I love looking thru this thread.
Had a triple hatch yesterday! my previous hens trys this spring only had singles.
How can you not love these little nuggets?
Awesome birds yall!
I came home last night, and this little nugget had hatched. My first one from eggs!
So do I separate the baby ...or separate the mom and the baby from the other birds? She's protecting him fiercely. I want to " let nature take its course"...but I don't want the baby harmed...
Yes...4 days ago when I opened the side of the house, one hen kicked an egg out onto the floor. (The two are sitting on about 7 eggs)
It busted and there was a fetus. I was raging mad but what can I do?
All the eggs should be fertile, as my roo is very randy...he mounts them constantly ( before...
Hi guys! I've been looking at this thread and I have to say all the birds I see are beautiful!
Now to my birds. My crazy birds. I hope someone can give me advice.
First ofall, I have 1 roo and 4 hens, aged 7 months. They all live in this condo thingy I built for them
22 days ago one hen went...
Maybe...that has to be it. But I remember gathering 2 eggs the day before. Anyways I got bigger problems. An outdoor bantam mutt hen got sick this morning and i had to bring her inside...Then a serama hen (the #1 girl) went broody now, she's been upstairs sitting on eggs all day. What should I...
Hi! I have 4 hens 4 mo old. Since Christmas day I've been collecting 3 eggs a day. I figured one wasn't laying yet or a couple of them went laying every day. So today I open up to get the eggs and find 7!! How is this possible? 7 eggs from 4 hens in 24 hrs?
Thank yall so much. And thank you Kathy.
I'm sorry but I should have been more clear in my first post. This is the first chicken I have had that GOT sick from unknown source. When I first got into chicken keeping, my over enthusiasm and inexperience caused me to twice purchase birds that were...
I'm still a rookie at this but every chicken I've ever had get sick eventually dies no matter how well I care for them....all ages, chicks and ful grown.
I went for about 2 months now with no sick birds, but now a 3 month old cockerel has congestion.been using vet-x.... Wondering if I should...
Hi Ya'll!
Well as you could probably figure, Joey got bigger. So now at 10 weeks old he's too big for his indoor cage. We went through a period recently where he was completely unmanageable and just could not be handled. Now he runs up and circles and rubs my hand when I change food...go...
Wow! Some very beautiful birds on this thread. Angie I hope your hen is doing better.
Here's Ruben at 8 weeks now. Hes been crowing for over a week and he's getting it down a lot better. 4 plain notes now but he's working on the inflection.
Hi guys! (No, Joey's such a snooty yankee, he only drinks pepsi... yuck!!!
The news is: Joey got his waddles today
Then celebrated by leading a chicken charge on me as soon as I opened the door (yes, he's giving the orders now to his "uncles")
But I was like "hey Joey...watch out for that...
Haha! Thanks for the replys!
What's up: Being from Jersey,Joey has been, of course, hitting the gym (feed trough)...and it's working...he's both a lot bigger and more egotistical than ever.
Joey lives with and barely tolerates his 3 "uncles" (d'uncle bantams his same age) He knows soon he will...
I have 5 seramas 5 weeks old. I've known that Cowboy was a roo for a couple of weeks now. He developed a huge comb early and he's already very protective over the other 4. He made his first attempts at crowing today. It was so pathetic! lol...I think you have all hens, from the pics..
Yea his comb is awesome lol. I would probably give him to you if you were closer...I think I'm ending up with 3 roos. "Shakey's" comb is not growing but he acts just like his brothers...play fighting ect..."chicken Little", crouching behind him is also a feisty little sucker!
Hi! Welcome to the adventures of Joey, a 5 week old Barred Rock chick.
Background: Joey came as 3 week old replacement for the best chicken I've had yet, T Rex, who died a couple of weeks ago.As sweet and smart and loving as T Rex was, Joey is the opposite. Honestly, he's a little jerk and a...
