3 molting hens- no poop for 3 days

My little hen is going through her first molt and this EXACT situation is happening. No poop in the coop at night. I do see her make "deposits" during the day, however. But it is definitely much less.

    Sad news about wonderful Georgie

I was reading about Georgie in a post you made about "what gender" and just realized yesterday that you had the youtube "in memorial" link as a footer. I was shocked. So I searched your posts to find out what happened. I'm not sure I understand. You said the vet felt what appeared to be an...

Light Brahmas, 4 months Pullet or Cockerel? +Updated Pictures on Page 4+

My first Brahma Light hen 27.5 weeks, just laid her first egg today, approximately 1 week after she started squatting. My second little hen is a few days younger. I suspect it won't be long for her to start too.

8 week old Light Brahma gender

Yay! Mine are both at 19 1/2 weeks and seem to be hens even though they both exhibited signs to the contrary when they were younger. One had three ridges in her comb and apparent wattles from 2 weeks of age. She also had a puffball tail which some said was a sign of a rooster. Both had red...

    No Love

Depends on your perspective. My chickens are companion animals that happen to lay eggs. They sit in my lap, enjoy being pets, and are happy to come running to me. It all boils down to how you treat them. Treat them like the sentient, affectionate beings they are, and they will be life-long...

When do light brahmas start laying?

What does everyone mean when they observe squatting behavior just before a hen enters into the laying cycle of her life and how do you encourage her to lay in her nesting box as opposed to under a bush in the back yard?

What breed and gender is this???

(S)he is 16 weeks old. No apparent hackles, saddle feathers, redness in comb/wattles/earlobes, but is very aggressive toward my old Pomeranian who has never been anything but sweet and gentle to her. She also fights with her sister like a rooster would fight.

Here she is[/IMG]. She has no hackles or saddle feathers and she is 16 weeks old. She used to sit on my old Pomeranian just to snuggle. The aggression just recently started. No food involved.

    Aggressive Brahma Light

I have a 16 week old Brahma Light that I think is a hen. She grew up with my two dogs who love her and her sister. (the attached photo is from about a month ago when she still loved him!) Over the past couple of weeks, she has become increasingly more aggressive toward my 14 year old, deaf and...

8 week old Light Brahma gender

I'm in the same boat. Mine are 14 weeks. No saddle feathers or hackles, but three rows. They don't walk like roosters so I'm hoping they are hens.
