I have seven in my flock, two of which are black stars. Both are less sweet than my EEs and GCs... However, one of them seems overtly mean to everyone else. Pecks, chases and corners a different hen depending on her mood.
I have a toddler and have been dealing with his behaviors through time...
The gentleman I bought her from, said she was hatched 15 months ago at his home. Didn't say anything about her having been de-beaked... And I didn't know to look.
recommendations for HOW to trim the lower beak? That seems terrifying to me -- do vets do that?

Do you leave the feeder and waterer INSIDE the coop, outside the coop/inside the run area?
Anyone have a bi-level coop? Where do you have your nesting boxes and food stuffs?

brought a new golden comet home, but didn't notice until later that a good portion of her upper portion of her beak is missing.
What can/should be done about this? Any suggestions to ensure her health?
