So this is what I found in one of my nests today, Easter. Special chickens?
I text this same picture to my sister and told her I've been feedin' 'em Crayolas. Then said, I cannot tell a lie, I put food color in their drinking water for a few days. 😂
This Rhode Island Red pullet is from my latest batch of chicks. I took the picture Friday, 04/10/20 and she is 16 days old. I was taking pictures of all the chicks in the brooder when I got lucky and caught this shot.
Raise some chicks. I got a batch of 33 hatchery chicks last week. I get a lot of joy out of just sitting and watching them run and jump and play. I can't tell you the number of times I've counted Each breed. Don't ask why I just do over and over again. Some of them look pretty similar so maybe...
Hi there. I've had all three breeds you mentioned along with many others. As for foraging, they all do well at foraging. I keep mine penned most of the day and let them out to forage around mid-afternoon and they return to the chicken house a little before dark.
I've never had a problem with...
Here are a couple of pictures of my flock. One was taken a few months after buying my first 8 pullets in 2016. The second picture is from this past summer. My husband built the small chicken house and pen for the small flock we wanted. Well.... y'all know how it goes, 8 leads to 12, 12 turns...
I love photography. I guess you could say I'm more than an amateur and nowhere near a pro. So whatever that is, that's me. Over the years I've had everything from the old and simple to the complicated digital SLR cameras. Now days I use my iPhone. It's easy and most of all, convenient. I like...
I've never been crafty (well, maybe but not in the artsy way lol), but my mom was a fantastic quilter, clothes maker, etc. I have a lot of potholders she made me over the years and still use some of them. Some I just keep and not use because they're getting a little worn.
Wow, your picture just brought a wonderful memory to mind. My mom use to make potholders like this. I still have a couple of old ones she gave me years ago.
