I have searched the forum not much in information from breeders. If I had my choice I would get Holland's from a breeder but due to the scarcity of the barred Holland I think a hatchery may be my only route.
I am trying to find out the best place to get a Heritage line of RIR (non industrial) birds. I see that Cackle Hatchery has a line, of production reds and then RIR single comb breed. Anyone had any experience with this Hatchery or their offering? How close to the SOP is this variety?
I have searched and seen that Ideal Hatchery and Sandhill Hatchery both offer the Barred Holland. What experiences has anyone had with Barred Hollands from either of these?
Built my coop inside my pole barn. Its working out great! Left some room on top didn't loose any storage area and it definitely cost me less than buying or building a separate structure.
