Hi guys! What happens if the power goes out for 3 or 4 hours at night, got up today and the incubator was on 29 working its way up. I have no idea what it went down to. The chook eggs are on day 6. ta very much
Hi Thanks for all the info everyone. Have hatched other eggs in another incubator with 60% first time and fitted an hygrometer and got about 40% and was very unhappy with that , hence the new incubator. Have had it on for a couple of days trying to get it stable and have 37.5 temp and 45%...
Hyline chooks, in New Zealand and I think most things I read say around 55 early stages and 65/70% last few days. Why is it that these thing are never easy?

I have just got a new incubator its a Janoel 48 tilts rather than turns. Problem is I can't find anywhere as to how much water I should be putting in at the start of incubation. It has five channels and small ones on each corner....anyone else using one of these....regards gary
Hi Around the same as most hens 18/22 weeks. We have kept some for a few years and have a couple of eggs in the incubator now. Mine have been inconsistent layers sometimes only every second day, but I am only on a lifestyle block and not really full of knowledge on them.

Hi everyone, What a great web site. I am just new today and we have our very first eggs hatching in a incubator right now. It is day 20 and 10 out of 18 have hatched and we helped 2 that had a bit of shell stuck to them. Have had two that pecked a hole and nothing more. I amuse they have died...
