Thank you everyone for your replies. Took her to get the beak trimmed, and turns out I am not crazy. The vet agreed the bottom beak is too soft to be trimmed right now. We're putting her on calcium supplements to hopefully harden up the beak so that it can be filed. Appreciate everyone's tips!!
Just a couple days ago, we discovered our three week old dominique (our little Dixie) chick's bottom beak is growing faster than her top beak. She appears to have a chick under-bite. She is trying to still eat, but the starter feed keeps getting lodged under her tongue, dries, and gets stuck...
