We get temps down in the -20* here and have had a few nights like that already this winter, they do fine with a good coop. Have a bit of a harder time with the frizzles but they have done well too, I am sure they don't like it but they are still doing well. Have to watch there crest feathers...

Yes, all the pictures are of the same two boys. The darker one is my main man for now. The second picture from the bottom I caught him shaking out his feathers, makes his neck look thick....LOL
They sometimes do that, they lighten as they age so I would not worry too much on the black color right now. I like them really dark when real young, if they are really light then that means they end up white early in there life and you don't really want that. If they have some gold spots it...
