I give them crushed oyster shells. I don't know if the feed is layer feed or not. We just have 2 hens and 2 roosters. They were supposes to be all hens! Surprise!!!
They have been laying for about 3-4 weeks. They are Rhode Island Reds. Also they won't eat table scraps and I thought chickens loved that. I mean like fresh vegetables and fruits. I have never given them table scraps.
I'm in the same boat. One of mine has a longer and darker red comb and wattle. He is friendly though and eats out of my hand and likes his back scratched!
