The humidity was pretty steady for us. Almost no water the first 18 days kept the humidity around 40-50%. Filled all the trays with water after day 18 and it held 60-65% till hatch. I think it works great.
No only one had an internal pip so we poked a hole so it could breath. The rest had no movement after candling again all were dead and the head was on the opposite end than the airspace.
We are waiting patiently today is day 21. I marked all the eggs with an x on top as I placed them in the bator and they are doing some rolling and moving so hopefully we get chicks today.
I just put eggs on lockdown so we're getting ready for chicks. I bought a nipple waterer and placed inside. Will the chicks know how to use the nipples.
Just went on lockdown. 26 eggs out of 36 made it this far. I have several olive green eggs which I can't see into. They have large air sacks so I left them. Wish us luck
I just candled again on day 10. Think I may have pulled one a little too early as when we opened it the embryo was rather large. Looked like a blood ring inside and no movement. We have 26 left out of 36 so I don't guess we doing too bad. Not candling again till day 18
We are on day 7 with the new incubator, and so far it is working good. temp stays between 99-100 and recovers very quickly. The humidity is up and down but I think this has a lot to do with the weather here in south Louisiana. We add a little and I'm only talking about 2 tablespoons of water...
It day 5 and I candled my eggs. All have a dark mass inside but not seeing the veins except in a light green egg. Can I move the eggs and turn them or will this kill the embryo? I only can fled from the top and bottom because I didn't want to hurt them. Should I look more closely?
Removed all water and humidity was holding at 29% added a little water and we are up to 35%. I guess keep adding a little at a time until proper humidity is reached.
What is the correct humidity to start incubating? My instructions say around 45% but I've taken most of the water out and it is still at 55%. What do I do? Will it effect the humidity when I add the eggs? The unit has been running since last night and staying really consistent.
