    Chicks Dying

Sounds like it could be the ramp it is pretty steep. They are all fully feathered and have been for some time. I know the coop is not too small, and they have all died outside in the run. I think I will just keep them in the coop for awhile till they understand that is where they need to be...

    Chicks Dying

I have lost 6, six or seven week old chicks this week. They are outside in a large coop and good sized run. The first three that died seemed to have been squished by the other chicks in the night, because they were outside in the run instead of in the coop under the heat lamp. So I started...

UPDATE: Chickens can't walk and now four have died.

Ok so everything that I have read about Mareks disease so far says "Paralysis" of the legs or wings. My two hens that are still alive can move their wings and legs but just seem too weak and off balance to stand up fully. So does that qualify as paralysis with this disease?

UPDATE: Chickens can't walk and now four have died.

I just bought 10 Partridge Rocks and 8 BLR Wyandottes 7-8 months old. I brought them home and put them in 2 seperate coops away from chickens that I already have, just incase they had something that wasn't showing yet. One hen got to where she couldn't walk about 1 1\\2 ago, and now 3 have...

My Chickens can't walk, and 3 have died!!

I have emailed the lady I bought them from to ask her because I have only had these chickens for 4 weeks, but she has not replied yet. Mareks disease was my first guess, so I tried to call the State Vet but the Lady who answers the Poultry questions will not be in until Tuesday.

My Chickens can't walk, and 3 have died!!

Yes they try to balance theirselves with their wings and are unable to stand up at all. They can scoot around on the ground to their feed and water but thats all. Both legs seem to be affected, amd they are very wobbly when they try and stand.
