    I want to keep chicken for eggs and also for meat. I have a choice between Rhode Island Red and Australop. Temperatures in Islamabad range from - 2 to + 43 degrees Celcius. I don't want to use commercial feeds. Please help me decide.

    Found all of my 6 quails dead an hour ago. All but one had heads missing and good 2.5 inch whole in the wire mesh cage with wires pulled inside. One bird was eaten in a two inch diameter others just had missing heads, could not find the heads anywhere around.What could it be? Rat, Mongoose...

    Hen is sick and sitting

    She was not eating well . Now she is just sitting with head down. Gave her antibiotic yesterday that spilled out in a minute. Today I can see a big lump near the neck. I salughtered one some time back with a lump and found that here was a blockage in the food pipe (swelling and growth). Any idea?

    Bought four more today.two whites and two quite dark in colour. The seller said the female has a white face and neck while the male is brown faced.I winder what the dar coloured pair is by breed. Plan to send pics soon.Some call the dark ones as wild.
