Should I paint the inside of the coop?

I would think that with proper ventilation, holding moisture wouldn't be an issue. I know a lot of people paint it to make cleaning easier. I personally didn't paint it only because my chickens were weeks past putting in the coop before we got it built, so I didn't have time to wait for it to dry

    INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Ooohhhh those turkey poults are sooo cute My husband actually told me no for the first time (pertaining to poultry) and wouldn't let me get any at Rural King. Of course its partially my own fault, since our RK is now enforcing the 6 minimum rule, and I really don't need any more chicks at this...

    INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Wow 11 out of 13 was way more than expected. Can't say my rooster isn't doing his job I guess lol. I read too many posts from people with my incubator saying less than 25% hatch especially on their first try. @pbirdhaven, that picture is hillarious, especially with the comment. Pic without the...

    INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

RK Lafayette is getting 1,500 chicks tomorrow the lady said it was definite. Frankfort RK is supposed to get theirs on Thursday. We bought 3 ISA browns from Laffy and I'm thinking they gave me a rooster. It's much lighter than the other two, has no tail feathers yet while the other two have...

    INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Hi fellow Indiana BYCers, I need some opinions. I built a coop and a fully enclosed run for winter for my chickens. I don't close the front door (which doubles as a ramp) at the moment. The coop and run are stuffed with straw, and the run is covered with a tarp. My question is, is there a...

Chickens won't lay eggs! Type of feed?????

I went from the chick starter to the nutrena all flock that rural king carries. I was going to do layer feed, but since one ended up being a roo I'm sticking with all flock and bought a tiny corner dish I put oyster shell in. My RIRs only just started laying, and the Easter eggers (rural king...

    Hi :-)

Thanks all for the welcomes. Thanks also for the info Michael, I didn't know that the hatchery would only guarantee 90%, but I knew some mistake happened somewhere. The funny part was the feed store maintained the impossibility of a roo even when I showed them his total roo pics. I will...

    Hi :-)

Hello I'm a new member, though an avid reader since buying my 3 children each a day old chick May 4 on a whim. They picked out two RIRs and a black australorp. We added 3 EEs 4 weeks later (sold to us as Americanas). By July I had strong suspicions that one of our EE "pullets" was indeed not a...
