They're getting real tall, just hoping they fill out all those big bones! I'll post recent pictures as soon as I take some, lol. Thinking of processing them in September.
Thanks for this thread, I've got a young roo with the same problem. He's destined for freezer camp in the end, but I don't want him to be miserable before he gets there.
Yay! I've only got a Barbezieux roo, so I put him over some Bresse hens. Those chicks are heavy! They're about 4 weeks old now. Keep us posted on your eggs. Do you know how tall the roo was? I wondered if there was a size difference between American stock and stock closer to home

Could I get confirmation that the mom was a...
These are some mutts of mine. The white one is a Bresse/buff O , two dark ones are Bresse/speckled Sussex crosses, and the other dark one is a SL Wyandotte/speckled Sussex. They don't look anything like the SS at all! I'll try to update pictures soon.
I hear ya! I'm pretty much at capacity now and have the incubator full again. And 13 that hatched several weeks ago, lol. The way I look at it, it's all fun and games until it's winter then I have to get my numbers down. I've already sold nine chicks and have people that said they'll buy some...
