That's what I thought. I have three more and they look totally different so I was questioning myself. The other three are darker and developing very sharp distinct lines. He has looked different since they arrived.
I noticed some of my hens have light (almost white) ears and some are darker. Since I read there is a direct correlation between ear color and egg color it made sense to me.
Maybe she is an early bloomer. I had one like that and my first guess was a hen then I started wondering if she was a rooster because of the reddening of her crown. But luckily my first guess was right. I don't know if it help that I asked her to be a hen everyday.Ha ha.
The boys have a bachelor pad. They free range while I am at work then go in their run when I get home. Then it's the girls turn. The roosters were raised together and get along nicely.
