Nice to meet you 3riverschick. I am not sure about the frost bite issues. I live in East Tennessee our winters are not that cold. Also this is my first year with the coop. Basically I needed a coop, found a book by Dr. Prince T. Woods " Fresh-Air Poultry Houses", and setin to building it .
Yes they do eat out of r proper feeders but of course there is the occasional sampling. The roosters are now on 24% game and the hens on 16% layer. The chickens roam the 1/4 acre goat pen most of the day foraging. Trying to find 18% layer.
